A very unusual set. Unlike most sets that have a single theme and are created by one designer, this one was created by letting each Franklin Mint sculptor create an original design of his or her own choosing with full freedom of artistic expression. The reverse has the artists signature. The medals are large and minted in high relief to give a 3-dimensional effect. This set was offered only to members of the Franklin Mint Collector’s Society. It is one of the rarer and, IMHO, most attractive sets. This is the second series of Sculptors Studio medals; the first was issued a few years earlier (see Sculptors Studio I). As an interesting note, the Certificate for this set says that the medals are 1000 grains each, but they are actually 1200 grains.
