This set was minted in both gold-plated and sterling silver versions, and also years later in a smaller size that was sterling silver only (the small size set is very rare). There is one medal for each of Shakespeare’s plays. The obverse has a scene from the play; the reverse has a famous quotation. The gold-plated medals often show corrosion, but can be cleaned – see Cleaning Tips page. Very nicely designed medals – the set deserves better packaging than the simple album.
